How does VouchedFor verify reviews are genuine?

Ensuring the reviews on our public website are legitimate and genuine is of utmost importance to us. We want you to have complete confidence that the reviews you see here are real experiences from real clients.

We have a range of robust measures in place to ensure reviews are genuine, including:

  • Reviewer verification – Reviewers must confirm they have been a client in the last 5 years (or have interacted with the adviser as a prospective client, for First Impression reviews) before leaving any feedback.

  • Consent for evidence – Reviewers are asked to consent to us requesting proof of the professional relationship if required (a review cannot be left without this consent).

  • Adviser confirmation – Advisers must verify anyone who leaves feedback without being invited directly by the adviser or their firm. If the adviser cannot verify, our automated process contacts the reviewer directly to request evidence.

  • Automated fraud detection – We run a continuous algorithm scanning for signs of fraudulent reviews, including IP address monitoring and duplicate checks.

  • Spot checks – We conduct rigorous manual spot checks, sometimes asking advisers for evidence of the client relationship.

  • Proof requests to reviewers – In some cases, we contact reviewers directly to request proof of their relationship with the adviser.

  • No hidden rewards – We do not allow the publishing of reviews that have been incentivised (e.g. money, discounts, free stays, or other benefits ).

  • Publishing all genuine feedback – Positive or negative, all genuine feedback is published unless it contains offensive language or personal information.

Action we may take in the case of any reviews breaching our terms:

  • Remove any reviews that cannot be verified to our satisfaction.

  • In serious cases where there may be a detrimental impact on consumers, notify the relevant firm’s compliance function or other relevant body.

  • Any advisers found to have fraudulently invited or left reviews can have their membership terminated under our terms of service.

Handling concerns:

  • If you spot a suspicious review, let us know and we’ll investigate promptly.

We regularly review our processes to ensure compliance with the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) rules and to keep our review system fair, transparent, and trustworthy.

If you have any questions or concerns about a review, you can contact us at customer_service@vouchedfor.co.uk.
